Dead MachineOki embedded Fiery restore
/forum/technical-forums/copier-technical-discussion/other-copier-brands/1634393-oki-embedded-fiery-restore
Sun, 28 Sep 2025 18:36:55 GMTHello all. First post here, new to the industry professionally but I have been collecting copiers for about 7 years as a hobby. Insane, I know.
...
One of the machines in my personal collection, an Oki CX3641, contains an embedded EFI Fiery 8e which runs the show. It appears to have died. Removing the hard disk, it reads fine in another machine and appears to contain several valid EXT (Linux) partitions. SMART does not show any signs of impending failure and it does not make any odd sounds during operation. A backup with Macrium Reflect was successful on the first try with no unreadable sectors reported.
During the boot process, the copier goes through self tests and then waits for the EFI to boot, which never happens. The display on the printer shows "Please wait" with the toner levels, and the display on the scanner shows "System starting," but the progress bar never moves past about 7/8ths, no matter how long it sits. With a keyboard attached, it seems "responsive" with num lock and caps lock toggle-able. Pressing escape early in the boot seems to bring up some kind of debug application, but I've not found any documentation on how this works.
When this happens, the entire machine locks up. The printer hangs at "Please wait," the scrolling messages stop where they are, and it responds to no buttons.
If you go into the service menu, you can print test pages all day. No errors, it even feeds 11x17 cover stock fine. Printouts look great, fantastic color great registration in all directions.
Is it worth buying a $180 used hard drive on a whim? I've heard tales of USB drives that might restore the Fiery, but I have yet to find one for sale or a copy of the files that might be present on such a device. It would be nice to have this copier working again, it was the first in my collection and I only gave 50 bucks for it. Considering the engine still works great and I just put toner in it before it died, I would love to not waste that effort.
Some additional things I have tried: Reseating RAM, replacing RAM with known good modules, booting with the scanner disconnected, booting with the scanner card removed, removing the battery, replacing the battery, booting with the hard drive disconnected.
Advice is appreciated. Thanks.]]>Other BrandsVCSMaster/forum/technical-forums/copier-technical-discussion/other-copier-brands/1634393-oki-embedded-fiery-restoreOKI C8800 NIC firmware

so... I got my hands on a pair of OKI A3 Color Lasers from 20 years ago, more precisely a C8600 and a C8800 both with 2 feeder trays. Both printers have no major issues, lucky me.
After replacing a pair of image drums the C8800 was *almost* back in working order, and I can say that I am pretty happy with that. I can print A4 and A3 in color laser quality, so it fits my needs pretty well!
The problems that was left to solve is that when printing from the second tray, the printer adds a company logo and some side markings. I thought that this was an overlay, so I tried to use the Storage Device Manager to check if there was something stored there, without success.
At this point I had the idea that restoring the printer to factory settings would have solved the issue, so I stupidly format the flash memory, which did not solve the overlay issue and turned off all network functionality...
The first company that could fix this is at 3 hours drive and they want to bring the printer there (40 kg....). Maybe this would be the right punishment for my stupidity, however if there is a good soul here that may provide the firmware files, it would really help.
For now I have already the MuWin version 1.49 and I got decent communication running WinXP under a virtual machine. What I cannot really find are:
- The NIC firmware (version 06.51 according to the printer)
- The NIC webpage files (web remote W6.52)
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I have a very specific problem with an OKI MC853. The printer prints without any problems, and I can also scan without any issues (glass or ADF).
However, when I try to copy a sheet directly on the printer using the ADF, I get ghosting across the entire sheet. This happens regardless of whether I'm copying in color or black and white. As I said, only via ADF. I have no problem at all using the glass. And only when copying. Scanning via ADF does not have this problem.
Now I think that the internal image processing is defective, so it's a board error. Can I simply replace the board from an MC853? I have read that you have to reprogram the EEPROM, is that correct? Where exactly is this chip on the board? Can I simply re-solder it, or can it be read out with a CH341A EEPROM programmer and written to the new one? Does anyone have experience with this?
Or what other alternatives do I have to solve this problem besides buying a new printer?
Of course, I have already updated the firmware and completely reset the printer.
Thanks in advance!]]>Other Brandsprinterman2000/forum/technical-forums/copier-technical-discussion/other-copier-brands/1632934-oki-mc853-ghosting-only-when-copying-via-adf-bord-replacement-possibleOki C532 service manual

A favorite resort of the foreign residents of Yokohama during the summer months is the island of Enoshima. It is about twenty miles away, and is a noted place of pilgrimage for the Japanese, on account of certain shrines that are reputed to have a sacred character. Doctor Bronson arranged that his party should pay a visit to this island, as it was an interesting spot, and they could have a glimpse of Japanese life in the rural districts, and among the fishermen of the coast. "But as we are in for it," he continued, "we must make the best of the situation, and hope to go through in safety. Many a strong ship lies at the bottom of the sea, where she was sent by just such a storm as we are about to pass through, and many another has barely escaped. I was once on a ship in the China seas, when the captain told the passengers that it would be a miracle if we remained half an hour longer afloat. But hardly had he done speaking when the wind fell, the storm abated, and we were safe. The typhoon is to these waters what the hurricane is to the West Indies; it is liable to blow at any time between April and September, and is often fearfully destructive. OPIUM-PIPE. OPIUM-PIPE. "Surely your ladyship knows Dr. Bruce!" Hetty said with a vivid splash of colour on either cheek "A little time ago I understood that Dr. Bruce----" "I require that everywhere a strict investigation shall take place into the conduct of the soldiers with regard to the life and property of the civilian population. "Where were they buried?" They all pressed forward. "Count out. That's the only fair way," shouted the boys in the center. "Now, there's three loaves o' bread for the Sargint," said Harry, laying them down on a newspaper. "There's three for the Corpril; there's three for me; there's three for you." "'T?un't peas, thick 'un," Vennal would break in uproariously, "it's turnips—each of 'em got a root like my fist." At this moment of perplexity, some medicine, that she had obtained from Edith, occurred to her, and, with a feeling of confidence, and almost of extacy, she took a phial from a shelf in a cupboard where she had placed it, and, pouring out the contents in a large spoon, hesitated an instant ere she administered it. "Let me see," said she; "surely it was a large spoonful Edith told me to give—yet all that was in the phial doesn't fill the spoon. Surely I can't be wrong: no—I remember she said a large spoonful, and we didn't talk of any thing else—so I must be right." But Mary still hesitated, till, hearing a sudden noise in the court-yard, which, she conjectured, was her mistress returned, and as the child was getting worse every moment, she leaned back its head, and, forcing open its mouth, compelled the patient, though with difficulty, to swallow its death. The draught was taken; the rigid muscles relaxed, and for a minute the child lay motionless in her lap; but in an instant after, Mary could scarcely suppress a shriek at the horrid sight that met her gaze. The eyes opened, and glared, and seemed as if starting from the head—the fair face and the red lips, were blue, deepening and deepening, till settling in blackness—the limbs contracted—the mouth opened, and displayed a tongue discoloured and swollen—then came a writhing and heaving of the body, and a low, agonized moan: and, as Mary looked almost frantic at this dreadful sight, Edith's words, when she had given her the phial, "that there was enough there to kill," suddenly occurred to her—and then, too, came, with a dreadful distinctness, the remembrance of the true directions which Edith had given. It was nearly noon the next day, when the under-sheriff entered the room to ask if their opinions were yet unanimous. The galleyman still refused. "That for ye, coward," said Tyler, striking him with the flat side of his bared weapon. Oakley aimed another thrust which was again turned aside, and the smith, now flinging down his sword, seized upon his right hand and wrenched the dagger from its grasp. After a short struggle, Oakley fell heavily on the pavement with the blood streaming from his mouth and nostrils. HoME萝拉泷泽第4部资源
